This is a card game called the Donkey Card game. It is played with a pack of 53 cards with a Joker. It can be played by two players, ten players or even more.
All the 53 cards are dealt out to the players. Then the players display the duplicate cards they have on the table: two queens, two tens, two fours and so on. After discarding the duplicates only odd cards are left in the hands of the players. Now they have to pick up cards to form pairs.
The player sitting to the left of the dealer starts the game by picking a card from the player sitting to his left. The cards are held close to the chest so that the player cannot see the card he is picking. If the card he has picked matches a card he has in his hand he places the two on the table. Then it is the turn of the next player who picks a card from the player to his left and so on. The game continues till all the cards have been matched.
As every card has a duplicate except the Joker, the player left with the Joker becomes the donkey. The player with the Joker has to keep a poker face so that the other players do not know who has the Joker.
