Texans have a chance today to make their case for or against the state joining a multi-state lottery.

The only hearing scheduled is at the State Capitol Auditorium on North Congress Avenue in Austin. What is fun, today also begins the special session on redistricting. Make your bets!

The Texas Lottery Commission has already received 2,000 e-mails on the issue.

Reagan Greer is the executive director of the commission. He says if he gives a favorable recommendation that's approved by the commission, tickets could be for sale as early as this fall.

Early estimates project about $101 million in revenue from a multi-state lottery.

Powerball includes 23 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Its biggest jackpot so far has been almost $315 million.
