You still have a chance to become a multi-millionaire. No one won Wednesday night's $120 million lottery jackpot.
That's not keeping East Texans from trying their luck once again. The next Lotto Texas drawing is Saturday night. Since there were no winners on Wednesday, the jackpot now is an astonishing $145 million. That's the second biggest jackpot in the entire history of single-state lotteries.
The Texas Lottery Wednesday night reported sales of more than 60,000 tickets an hour...which was a welcome income for our local lotto outlets.
East Texas convenience store clerks are recovering from a severe case of lotto fever. One store on the loop in Lufkin made more than $3,000 Wednesday in lottery ticket sales alone. The manager says it'd be a good idea to get tickets for this weekend's drawing, as soon as possible.
Margaret Davenport says, "If you wait til Saturday night, you're gonna stand in line a while. It started from the time they found out it was $120 million...it was just steady."
Some stores in East Texas were selling lottery tickets at a rate of 100 tickets per hour.
